Golden Line

Article: Read the following article: Beyond the tip of the iceberg: Five stages toward cultural competence by Hanley, Jerome.

Instructions: In this reflection, actively read the text, highlighting or using sticky notes to identify parts of the texts that:

• Raise questions for you
• Make you say “aha”
• Cause you to reconsider prior assumptions

Identify a part of the text that was a Golden Line for you and indicate if the line prompted a Question, Aha, or Reconsideration. Write an explanation noting what was significant about the line and how it impacts your current understanding.
